Dakota Hawk

Is there anyone here who can give me an assessment of the Dakota Hawk?

Re: Dakota Hawk

I know nothing of a Dakota Hawk but I did see it was a Fisher Design. I owned a Fisher Celebrity for a while and it had some good and bad points. Wings were very strong with the geodetic construction.
Round struts caused tremendous amounts of drag and kit provided fittings were rough. Gear was weak and tailwheel attachment was poor. Flying qualities were good but performance as a single place with a A-75
Continental was poor, way to much drag and I can't imagine it as a two-place as originally designed.
Why not get a 85hp Vagabond and have all the Piper parts availability, steel tube fuselage and aluminum wings? ( I may be biased)
