DCO-65's Trip Home in 1EW,Might Need Overnight at KSIY,KLMT

Hey all,

191EW's new owner (DCO-65 here on BCP) is headed out this AM with his new plane. Been here waiting out the weather for several days, and beautiful here in N. CA this AM, so he's making a run, not sure he'll be able to make it all the way to 7S9 (Lendhardt).

Likely he will need to stop for a night, possibly around Yreka. Planned gas stop in KSIY.

Anyone know of any hangar spots (Yreka, KSIY, Klammath, etc.) that might be available for a night or two in case he's weathered out?

He's generally following I5, and will decide whether he turns west at Ashland into central OR, or goes the Klamath route.

Here is his spot to track: http://share.findmespot.com/shared/faces/viewspots.jsp?glId=0qGMBndH6U0aDr8cB5kMoFl6b98KGsYbF

Here are the possible routes:
Central OR Route: http://skyvector.com/?ll=44.92436264449316,-123.0251770040446&chart=301&zoom=4&plan=A.K2.KJAQ:A.K2.F25:A.K2.KCIC:A.K2.KRDD:A.K2.KSIY:A.K1.S03:A.K1.KMFR:A.K1.KRBG:A.K1.7S9

Eastern OR route: http://skyvector.com/?ll=44.77247665132145,-121.8166809103369&chart=301&zoom=4&plan=A.K2.KJAQ:A.K2.F25:A.K2.KCIC:A.K2.KRDD:A.K2.KSIY:A.K1.KLMT:A.K1.KRDM:A.K1.8S3:A.K1.6S4:A.K1.7S9

There's an FBO at Medford, I think it's called Medford Air and they are really nice and have let me put my plane in there overnight without charging me a few times. Also always seem to have a car and have let me take it overnight to stay with a friend in Ashland too. Have a great flight! Someone around here has a hangar for sublet at Lenhardt too.

I can make a spot in Bend KBDN, if it comes to that.

PIREP: 25mph headwinds, which means he's doing about 70mph over the ground tops. Probably getting passed by I5 traffic!

I'd offer up our hangar at Grants Pass but I think it's full right now. Might check in with the Steve's Aircraft guys, or go for Medford Air like Paco said. I'd offer my hangar at Lenhardt but he's already home by that point. :)

Just got gas at Benton. The boys from the restaurant wanted to know I came from with That Beast. I said Emfly's of course.

What did you do with the T-craft? My friend Terry Bowden in TX holds the STC (developed here in CA at my home airport) to put 85, 90 or 100HP on the front of that airplane, which makes it into a really great little ship.

Made it to Grants Pass. The FBO was great. EW is covered for the night. Fun day and I swear Mt Shasta gets bigger every time I have flown by.

EZFlap I still have the Tcraft. Haven't come to grips with letting her go. I love that 70 year old war bird and It wouldn't be flying now without Terry's help so I am grateful to him. That being said Emfly's plane is a bird of a different feather and today was a blast.

Brent, keep an eye out for Chad and his new hot rod 180, he'll be on your six in the morning.

Emmet, bet it hit you hard watching you ride leave today.
I know he will take good care of her.

1EW has been sitting unflown since mid Dec, so glad she's out and about again. Happy she's with a great guy for a new owner.

Sorry I didn't see this thread last night.

Let me know if you need anything (I am based in GP) and live a few minutes from the airport. Fog to the ground here right now.

1EW is still in GP. I rented a car and drove home. I didn't see a single plane fly all day. Going to give it another shot this weekend.
