Deadstick biplane in NH: happy ending

What is this thing, anyway? Waco?
Good to see more successful outcomes making the news as well.

You have to suffer the Ford commercial that plays before the feature piece:

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

Looks like a Waco to me.

Good thing it didn't happen in Main, they would have charged him use tax. And probably a fine for not paying road tax. Parade permit even?

Yep, its a Waco...cross bracing on the landing gear, wing root cuts forward, wing braces slanted inward, turtle deck from tail to headrest...

I had to dead stick a Stearman about a month ago on a ferry flight...let me tell you, these big boys don't glide any better than a Steinway. We made it to a strip so we had a little different outcome, but a lesson learned nonetheless.

Wow... no crowing about whether they filed a flight plan...
