I ordered some 12" decals for the BSU Oregon game that am going to put on my plane from my flight to IF just before the game. I was planning on puttin gthem on the side of the plane but then thought...is that legal? My N# is on my tail and i dont want to get it trouble for sticking "GO BSU" where most people have their N#. If I would have thought about it a little more i would have gotten bigger letters and stick them on the wings but 12" is too small for that.
Will I get in trouble for putting the decal on the side of the plane?

Doesn't the new AOPA sweepstakes plane have decals on it instead of a custom paint job?
If your N numbers are currently legal, I don't see why putting decals where they ain't would be a problem... then again, this is the FAA we're talking about.
