For anyone banking on getting MoGas at Denio Junction, plan to get gas elsewhere. Their pumps were broken when I was there in May, and then they thought they would have new pumps in a couple of weeks. Turns out they wont have new pumps till next spring, according to the Oregon Hunters Association newsletter I just got. Figured someone might find this information useful...

Just changing the dispensers (that is what you see above ground) (the pumps screw into the top of the tanks) is not a big deal. They may need a major upgrade due to vapor recovery and leak detection (can you say EPA). They may even need new tanks. If the cost of the upgrade cannot be recovered due to low volume then it may not happen.
Not saying that is the case but I have seen this on many occasions. I have built a few stations and am familiar with what has been mandated by government.

Oh yeah I should have said the problem was with the tanks, not pumps, but it sounds like it is for sure getting taken care reading the article I have. As I believe a lot of people consider Denio Junction as a crucial spot for gas (for automobiles) but I guess well just have to wait and see. Would be a shame to loose it since for those of us that can use MoGas, it makes for an awesome fill up spot when cruising the Alvord/Steens area...
