Dog Ear Protection

I noticed on one of the dog threads all the dogs in the planes had the dog ear protectors on. With the new puppy, I've been thinking a lot about taking him flying, and I was curious how your dogs adjusted to wearing those (if they readily accepted them, or fought to take them off?).
Thanks,
Jesse

I was wondering the same thing. I read about the product online, and they say that usually the dog will take them off once during the first flight. Then after hearing how much louder/annoying it is with them off, they understand why it's better to have them on. At least that's what the marketing says. Anyone have any real life experience? I'm thinking about getting a pair for some of my nephews and nieces - no microphone.

Mutt-Muffs, they work well.
My dogs aren't the most co-operative, but they give minor resistance when putting them on, then forget they are there.
Occasionally, during a flight they might bump them on something and I have to re-adjust them.
Two Australian Shepherds, and the Mutt-Muffs are the color Gray (the area I like to hang out in).
A good investment for "Man's Best Friend".

Our poodle is 5 now and has had the opportunity to wear them for 4 1/2 years. We did not find it easy to consistently put them on so that she is comfortable; finally last year we got smart enough to mark the velcro straps good enough to be more consistent. Still, sometimes she takes them off and sometimes she leaves them on. I ordered from the factory and got to choose the color pink, so at least she can make a fashion statement (she is a poodle).

Foam ear plugs.
They fit any dog or passenger if for some reason you don't have enough headsets.
A dogs ear canal is pretty much "L shaped" with the drum at the bottom end of the L. As long as the ear plug is vertical it shouldn't be hitting the ear drum. Put them in the ear canal from the top with just enough sticking out so you can grab them with your finger tips to pull em out after the flight. Hold ur dogs head still for 10 sec's while they expand and your good to go. My Bulldog has no issues with them, although a little dog might need them trimmed a bit and to leave a bit more sticking out.

I have a year old black lab and have been happy with the mutt muffs. She is smaller dog at 60 pounds, so my only issue is that she is between sizes so it took quite a bit adjusting to get things fitting right.
She wasn't a big fan of them at first, but it didn't take long to get her aclimated. Whenever I mowed the lawn I would stick her in the yard with me. Halfway through I put the mutt muffs on and it didn't take her long to realize they make things quiet.
