Down Under BCP Meet Up

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Down Under BCP Meet Up

My wife and I just returned from a 3 week trip to Eastern Australia and New Zealand. A highlight of our trip was an Australia BCP Meet-Up with TIm (Drifter Driver). Tim had provided us with some great local info while I was planning our trip and we made plans to catch up in person. We met up with Tim at the local airstrip near Byron Bay then met some local aviation characters and watched tourists attempt to skydive. Niccole and I both went for flights in the famous Drifter. She was pretty hesitant to get back in the ocean after seeing all the "sea life" from the air....

A few pics from the flights:

After flying we spent the afternoon on the river trying to catch some flathead. I was lucky enough to catch a small one, TIm caught a stick and unfortunately my wife didn't catch anything

Pretty cool to see how the BCP community is world-wide. TIm I owe you a salmon trip whenever you make it to the US, it was great to meet you and your wife..

Not far enough north for crocs, but we saw a good few sharks, in this case reef sharks, tiger sharks, and wobbegong's. We also saw alot of sting rays.

On the more positive side we also saw dolphins!

And yeah that is my home strip, great place to fly out of, you depart right over the water

Fair dinkkum posty Maties.

I see the surf break "Shipwrecks". Great wave! Kind of like a tropical Santa Barbra, CA.

See you tomorrow Tim at Tenterfield.
