That is very very cool. I have thought about that for years, even dong approaches on 300' empty gravel & chip scows. If I had money Id buy me one of those old scows, strap it to a tug and make my own mini aircraft carrier. Shit, money is wasted on the rich.

I have surely been tempted to do that flying down the Columbia. I like the guys holding the struts down for take off.

The pilot must have had some real good connections with the ships captain to pull that off, assuming he had permission.

That takeoff looked a little shaky, the landing a bit "firm", and they could have used a little better editing. But wow what a cool concept, thumbs up to the pilot for coming up with the concept, knowing the right people, and not screwing the pooch.

Pretty risky endeavor for a zero gain result. What's the point? Even the video of the stunt, for entertainment value, is poorly shot and edited.

Seems to me like a Darwin Award looking for a place to happen.
