Does anyone on here have any experience with the Evangel 4500 twin stol? I thought maybe someone from Alaska might have some time in the Yellow and Blue one that is, or was, in Anchorage.

Flying magazine 20-30 (maybe more) had article on it . Think I saw it online ?? Think it was also referred to as "Bushmaster" 4500.

The bushmaster was a modernized Ford Trimotor from the 1950's. Another cool airplane.

It was made 20 miles west of me at Orange City IA. In the 1980's they made another plane that was called the Angel and was a twin with pushers and trike gear. I remember seeing Carl takeoff and land and was quite a performer.

I have donated for many years to The Kings Aircraft Engineering, the non-profit part that Carl Mortenson has set up for the Type Certification and uses a percentage of the revenue to fund making and donating Angel's to missionary services around the world.

I flew N44KA out of Orange City once. What a hoot, a mix between a high performance twin and a cub. Truly a STOL aircraft and really low VMC. Angel has just had a hard time getting the market for this aircraft, problem with a small company with limited capitol. But they are tremendous airplanes.

I have read everything there is to read about the plane on the internet. I have been interested in them since seeing one for sale in Trade a Plane back in the 70's.

I would love to hear some first hand accounts of the 4500's flight envelope and short comings. The Angel pusher has the props on the wrong end for me.

There has been one containerized and brought back to the states several years ago, but there has not been any news on how it's restoration is coming along.

I am just curious, I have no way to obtain one unless they wanted to trade for a slightly used 180.
