F-16 Tipped Over by B-1 Exhaust

Watch how the F-16 gets a little too close to the B-1B exhaust. Apparently the cameraman finds the B-1 taking off more interesting than the tipped over F-16.

Hey, Thanks!! That's a great little illustration of why it's so important to be aware of an airplane that is at the hold bars. You never know when they're going to push up thrust, and if your nose isn't into that thrust when it comes.....

F-16 pilot with major red face.

Thanks, I've already sent this to all our students.

I saw a similar situation at Reno several years ago....a Sea Fury had just landed and was taxiing from the right past the airplane display area. An FA-18 was running up engines with his tail pointed toward the taxiway. As the Sea Fury taxied by, the jet blast turned the Sea Fury almost 90 deg. You should'a seen the look on the face of the Sea Fury driver. Have it on video tape.

The faster I go , the farther behind I get.

Wow, that's something! And yea, who cares about a B-1 taking off when you can watch a F16 being blown over!

If you want to see the power of jet engines, there are some awesome video's on youtube of cars and trucks being blown clean off the tarmac by 747 exhaust. They act like leaves being blown around.

My CFI used to regale me with stories of what a JATO bottle can do. They set a field and a small electronics shack on fire once when told to "expedite" their takeoff. :)

Not so sure about that!

Have you been close to a B-1 doing a full blower T/O to an unrestricted climb?!

About had the windows in the SOF truck blown out!
lol!

There is a video out there of a crewman on an carrier getting sucked completely into a fighter jet. Flames and crap come blowing out the back and you say, the dude is dead. Nope. All the junk is what his helmet did.

Pretty funny once you know his is ok.

Found it.

Nice vid! I'm around all types of Airforce jets everyday and I have to say pointy noses don't impress me. I think it was my first deployment to the middle east where our tents were about 1/2 a mile from flightline. I missed out on days worth of sleep because of fighters doing tactical departures in burner all night every night. It's cool once or twice but quickly gets old.

Now a B-1 taking off in burner is something everyone should experience! It has FOUR F-16 engines and in full burner if your within a mile you can barely breathe its so loud. At night you can see all the burners it's spectacular!
