Not sure if this has been posted here, but a pretty good document:

Re: FAA Off Airport Ops Guide

Very good info! And nice find! Most of the Backcountry Pilots should read this! Especially if you are doing any off airport flying or going to! Those that already have, you are probably already are using these techniques, and would find this guide as a quick reminder or a good review of what you have been doing! The only comments I have to this guide, is they mention a go-around on a botched approach or landing, and that is fine unless there is no-go-around where you are landing! I don't know where Paul or Loni are landing in Alaska, in there pictures in this guide, but I bet there is no-go-around to there landings! I have been going to many places that there is no-go-around, and maybe they can start another chapter on "no-go-around landing spots" or "one way-in landing strips", with comments like, there is no second chance, and if you don't do it right the first time, you might be there awhile! "Fun Stuff" :D

This is also available as a pamphlet. I have one that I think came from Fairbanks flight service in the past couple years. It is titled "Alaskan Off Airport Operations Guide", but it is basically the exact same writing, only with different pictures, and the quotes are attributed.

Great doc. I added it to the knowledge base under Off-Airport operations which also features a good writeup by MTV on off-airport landings

I also found in interesting that they didn't mention one way committed landings. These are pretty common along rivers in canyons. Maybe the omission speaks to how the FAA feels about such landing sites.
