Disgusting, but somehow I'm not really surprised.

As a controller (who is now retired) I tend to come to the defense of the FAA. This however is unexcusable!! I'm told the air fare alone was over $3 million, and the $5 million price tag does not count the overtime the FAA had to spend to back fill for 3,600 supervisors for the 5 shifts they were gone. My calculations is an additional $1.65 million.

They could keep the Seattle Flight Service Station open for quite awhile longer with that cash.
Just can't wait to be told by some hot shot in Arizona on how to vector around the Mountains in the Puget Sound area in the crud. I am thinking bent metal.

I'm surprised 0bama and pelousey didn't offer their private fleet for this worthy event.

Hey, at least when they're dancing on tables and drunk, they aren't devoting their energies to restricting general aviation operations....I say we buy em another bottle or four.
