Fall Colors

Not necessarily information about airstrips or airports, but more general info about a greater area or a route of flight.

That's a great photo! I've seen timber harvest units in geometric shapes and even one in the shape of a middle finger, but never one that used color. That took someone with a good imagination and sense of humor to design.

It's a hybrid. Lodgepole pine with Sugarpine cones.

Re: Fall Colors

Time to resurrect this thread for 2022. I’ve been out the last four days completely blowing off work to fly around(Thank you daughter #1 for holding the fort down). The weather has been perfect. Colors are more subdued this year, but I don’t think we have reached peak yet. Here are some from the last couple of days. More to come in the following weeks. Looking forward to seeing others!

Lookin up a cool little canyon to Ok Slip Falls

Beautiful! Thanks for taking us along.

I really miss flying in that area, especially this time of year!

Thanks,

Did you live or work in the area?

We lived in Vermont (Burlington and Shelburne) in the late 90's-early aughts. I learned to fly initially out of the nice grass strip at Shelburne airport and I based my Citabria there for several years before moving to Oregon in 2005. I used to fly over the Adirondacks a lot. Beautiful area!

Some photos from last week. No filters, these are all natural taken by my friend Mel who is incredibly talented.

Re: Fall Colors

Corn and soybean harvest is pretty much done around here. This is my cousins' corn field and the wind turbine maintenance guys must have be working. I bet someone flipped a cigarette. A tractor and disc had it out shortly and thank goodness not much wind today.

Re: Fall Colors

I don’t post hardly at all. Just thought I’d throw out some from a recent flight. My 7yo spotted a guy with a “big” camera. He decided to interrogate him after we landed. We got some quality shots from him. Nice guy!
