Clever concept, but what would the actual usefulness be? They already have rotary wing UAV's that hover, and they already have R/C glider derivative UAV's that fly slow, or fly very efficient.

It is a good technical achievement,a nd I salute them for making it work... but I'd be interested to see what the mission profile or flight regime this thing addresses, that is not already addressed by an existing UAV.

I'd seen this thing on a couple different sites and hadn't thought about that. Flying salad shooter! :lol:

Now that you mention it, if they could make it Big enough and they could just cruise around all those airports where those pesky birds gather!!
Also from the looks of it if they could go inverted would make a self propelled mower that wouldn't leave tracks??
