"...McDowell and Komberec took video of it prior to the crash. They used that to determine the plane is likely a Jungmeister..."

Pilot is identified as Patrick Carter (52) of Monroeville, Alabama.

Monroeville, Alabama made me think of Harper Lee, who was born there.
Turns out the pilot was the husband of Harper Lee's lawyer and grew up next door to Lee.
