I agree with Hammer on the content in AOPA,I can not relate to the V speeds of the latest jet cuz I cant even buy the fuel for one.

I used to really like reading Northern Pilot (I beleive that was the name) when I could find it. It was geared more towards the back-country, smaller plane user. Most of the Aviation mags out there now are all geared towards the Dr./Lawyer crowd. (No offense guys)
The high speed travelers and the turbine/jet people.
Not alot in AOPA the really grabs my attention other than the safety articles, I only get it due to believing it is one of the few organizations helping flyers, along with the EAA.

I like to pick up lots of different magazines and thumb through them when I'm at Borders or Barnes and Noble: Linux Format, Computer Pilot, Outside, National Geographic Adventure, Fly Fisherman...

Pretty much any tech rag pertaining to the staples in life; Flying, Shooting, Hunting & General Outdoors stuff. Subscribe to very little, I hate junk mail. Someone gave me a years worth of Fying Getaways (Glossy type coffee table publication) so now I have the prefered approach to Martha's Vineyard, Santa Barbara and some Golf Course in Texas. I'd be happy to share.
WW, you're right, it was Northern Pilot. Had some great stuff like maintenance, some new product but also once in a while leads for maintenance of older stuff. Flight tets I could recognize. Seemed a lot more "everyday" kind of stuff I could get into. I also have every copy except #2. No, not sharing unless you come over to visit.
The other rag that was absorbed by NP was Mountain Pilot. Now that was something you could really sink your teeth into. Great how to articles. Liability must have been huge.
NP was taken in by Pilot Getaways with a promise that they would keep some of that NP stuff and MP features. That lasted about one or two quarterly issues.
That's it guys, no one loves us, just Zane.

I pick up Pilot Getaways "on a issue by issue basis". Most of them in the past year or so have had some "backcountry" stuff.
