I'll do it for free just expenses to get to the plane and along the way ofcourse. Have 200+ in 7 series and coast to coast ferry experience in a-1 husky. :)

This is why you guys who fly for a living can't get decent pay.

I'll do it for $10,000.00 plus 6 months health insurance, 6 months into my retirement account, lodging in 5 star motels, all the food and alcohol I want. I think that about covers it.

If I'm not a ferry (aka gay) can I still have the job?

Just kidding all in fun, don't get your panties in a wad.

Rob, you'd have a seizure in response to 65hp.

Re: Ferry Pilot Needed

I'd do it for free too if I had more than 3 hrs in 7 series.

The day the professional ferry pilots start competing for work with the $20K miniature taildragger ferry guys, we'll know the graphs have crossed and the state of aviation employment opportunity has reached a new low.

Re: Ferry Pilot Needed

So do you have a pilot?

From where and to where is it to be ferried? I donate hundreds of hours of flight time. Retired. Don't need the money. Enjoy adventure. Got 1,800 hrs. in Champs and Citabrias....from 100hp. to 180 hp. 4,000+ tailwheel. Maules, Pitts, Skybolt, C-170-140-120...Twin Beech. Don't know if that meets insurance requirements.

PM me if interested.

Hello Backcountry Pilots,
I agree with Rob, but I want twice as mush $$$, and Shinia Twain as my co-pilot :D . A pilot wouldn't ask a farmer if he could drive his 1958 John Deer combine for a week for free, so why would you fly for free? If your are interested in flying long hours, for low pay in ice, the night freight haulers are a good place to start.

Really Paul,
Good luck finding a dependable pilot. There are some good, and a few really disreputable ferry pilots out there.

Re: Ferry Pilot Needed

This is turning out to be a good read........ if he would wait till after hunting season and things cooled down out mid west I'd go myself..but he wants his "baby taildragger" right now ! He looks at it tomorrow, then it's up to him what happens next.
Rob I'll pass your offer on to him, sounds like a good deal to me. Those of you who want to do it I will confirm sale tomorrow and pass leads to him or if he want me to do so I will contact you. ??

Re: Ferry Pilot Needed

Hey, don't badmouth old farts willing to do it for the fun of it. I have plenty of 7ac time and expenses would be fine......and sometimes NOT being in a hurry and pushing the situation is the better tactic, and when I retire (and I assume the other old guys) time ain't gona matter!
I assumed the 5 year delay might be a deal breaker, though.....

Re: Ferry Pilot Needed

If you could wait until next spring, I will have a lot of spare time.....and I have about 500 hrs in a 7 series champ..don't know if I could handle that kind of power though! Have done some ferrying of new & used planes accross the country. HC

Re: Ferry Pilot Needed

I would do it for nothing also, just for the fun of it. I like flying our champ, and a lazy trip across the country would be a blast.
