Take care, Rob
This has been my exact experience. I have an -4 (86”) C58 (same blades as C66 to my understanding). It’s the only prop type (3rd individual prop) I have used on this particular aircraft w/ the Pponk -50 so not as much to compare to as Rob. It’s a different aircraft, but slightly slower with slightly better takeoff pull than a friends machine with the MT 2-blade. Another friend who works closely with me went with the 86” Mac 3-blade when he upgraded. Had a lot of days flying together and working loads in and out of the same strips. Far as I can tell we cruise exactly the same (tho I usually burn slightly less fuel so 2-blade could be minusculy faster???) and pull the same loads out of the same strips day in and day out. In my head I know his 3-blade pulls harder but sure can’t tell it from the way the planes perform!
Plus this prop is 1/3 the price of a new 3-blade. Might not be if too many folks catch on so shhhhh. Then again, the three-blades and even the 2-blade MT LOOK a lot cooler, so hopefully I can keep buying the old junky 2-blade macs cheap.
Good luck getting a FA, shouldn’t be too tough as there are a lot of them out there. If you don’t have a copy of one yet, pm me I can send you a copy of mine.
