Finally got to fly!

Well we had beautiful weather finally this weekend. I booked the Aero Club's Archer and went out today for a 1.3 Your probably thinking ya big deal but this flight has a little significance. It was my first flight solo since getting my license back on Nov 27th and it was also my first solo flight down here in Norcal. I only have 78 hours or so and being in a new airplane and a new area it was interesting. I only flew about a 1.5 dual back on Dec 15th for the checkout and almost an hour of that was in the pattern at the clubs field. It's a fairly sporty strip to get into for a beginner so we beat it up for quite a while. Anyways I was excited and have cleared that initial hurdle of flying in a new area again. Now its on to a mountain checkout so I can go outside of their 50NM cage that they keep you in without it. PPSEL.. A license to learn!

Isn't that cool? Chelle and I also snuck out on Wednesday. We got a bit of a break and the winds died down a little. Have been hearing reports of all the beaches getting washed out so we took off in that direction. Made it over the interior of the Olympics and came down North of the Wynoochee dam and then into Westport. Lots of flooded rivers but not too bad. Never pay that much attention to the Media.
Came home by way of Elma and played in the Black hills for a little while and landed in Shelton for fuel. $3.60/gal! Came home in the dark and greased it on the dimly lit field. 1.6 total, some weather and a great time with Chelle. It drives it home when we don't get to get out as often, we are truly lucky people.
And yea, a kick ass spell check.

Just today, after listening to a guy grouse about the crummy weather, I told him that that was God's idea just to make sure we'd appreciate the good weather when we got it.
Kurt, did you two get out by Copalis? I saw in the paper where it was open for razor clams a couple weekend ago, and I was wondering if there were many airplanes out there for that.
Even with this rain-every-day wx we been getting, I've got up and out three times so far this year. Just local flights, but that's enough of a fix to hold me. The ceilings have been pretty low, but generally real good viz (30+ miles) under it.
The TV news has shown a few pretty good mudslides, but nothing that has affected me (so far). Probably about time for another biggie along Hood Canal one of these days.

Nope, didn't make that one. I would have loved to though. Would have pretty popular with the family too. Looking at the season schedules on line, there's no mention of any additional seasons. Just went through the increased fees that Govenor of yours is imposing!
The long range forecast has us pegged at Monday being 28-days of continuous rain. Sounds like a good time for an annual.
If I see any sunbreaks, I'll call 'ya.

Yeah, I know, nobody is willing to claim her. Just everyone has to pay her, and pay and pay....
Sorry, got distracted. Nice sunrise this morning though. Would love to go watch the sun come up in this clear air before this next system comes in. Absolutely beautiful last night. They're expecting another inch or so of rain this afternoon.
Actually Eric, I wouldn't have thought you capable of such bad judgment, you're too nice a guy!
