Finished up my instrument rating today

Congrats! That is a big accomplishment, for sure!
I know what you mean about multitasking. I remember feeling like my brain was going to overheat a few times during my instrument training.

A late congrats on your new rating. Be sure to notify your insurance company. Even though I am not current, my inst. rating saves me 10 percent on my insurance.

Good job Gary,
Wait for a day with about 2000 overcast and 3 miles vis. Then file. Go out and fly some actual instument. If you get screwed up you can decend out of the clouds, cancel and go home VFR. Actual IFR is a whole lot easier than in training under the "hood."
