Bring a coat and a pre-heater! Snow level in the Bitterroot is 5,500, and by Friday it'll be freezing down to around 3,500 overnight. Sure is nice to see some weather after that smoked-in summer.

I see snow on the rising terrain right behind my place, snow just a couple hundred yards away! Downhill, it's just a cold drizzly rain. A great day NOT to be camped out in a wet tent at a socked in back country airstrip, just saying, nothing like a real roof and walls on some days. But, I still have a few camp outs I hope to be able to make yet, I like these early cold snaps as it makes you realize "it" is coming, so you best make the most of the remaining good flying days.
