This guy is really lucky did a great job of an engine out landing. Walked away!
The pilot and passenger were able to get out and were not hurt.

The Federal Aviation Administration told KIRO 7 the aircraft was a single-engine Piper PA32. It crashed immediately after taking off from Runway 16R at nearby Paine Field.

The pilot said he started started losing power and couldn't restart the engine. As he began to go down, he saw that Harbour Pointe Boulevard was clear and open, and steered that direction.

Couldn't believe my eyes when they said nobody hurt on TV this morning. Hollywood couldn't have done any better. Must have been gas from the ruptured fuel tank making the fireballs

I'm always intruiged by watching peoples response in situations like this. One guy tries to back up, one moves up to get a better seat for the show, two try to make 180's and bail, and finally you see two people waaaay up ahead running to the scene to help. No judgement, just interesting to see the different responses. Oh, and I'm sure the ones that just stayed still did so because they never saw the plane since they were texting.

I'm glad (and surprised) that they all survived! A successful emergency landing!

I guess I'm one to hang back. Last Fall I was in my farm tractor about 500 feet from the entrance to our airport. I watched a fellow pilot coming from town on his bicycle to make laps on the runway. He turned in front of a car and went flying and landed in the middle of the road----no movement. The truck driver that got stopped just in time and the little gal that hit him were there so I felt no need to go any closer and have something bad etched in my mind---what I saw was bad enough for me.

Looks like he did a great job of flying the plane to the crash site. It could have been far worse!
