Thanks to every for the overwhelming response. It was an awesome feeling, I actually spent most of today checking the weather to make sure it will be good enough to fly this weekend.

I'll definitely get down there sometime.

I have a friend that lives in Girdwood, AK. I'd love to get up there to visit him sometime and get some flying in.

I haven't forgot your offer, you'll hear from me in a few weeks when it gets warmer. I'm hoping to get time this summer to get my tail wheel endorsement.

I've been looking at buying a plane for twenty years. Although I promised my wife I would rent for the first year to figure out exactly what type and how much flying I will do. I've been looking at everything from an M5 to a 182 to a 206. Just not really sure what I want to do. We have a guy at 1G0 that has an M7, I've never been up in one and would like to see if I can get "invited" up sometime. Being 6'3" 275lbs there are some planes that are just not an option.

I have the plane and my instructor scheduled for three hours a day for every Saturday and Sunday for the month of March. After daylight savings time kicks in, I plan to get an hour or so after work once or twice a week for solo work. My goal is to have that piece of paper by June '08.

Again, thanks to everyone, I lurk around a lot listening to all of you and hope to get a lot of time in quick once I get my own bird. Fortunately my wife is currently very into the idea of a Maule with Bushwheels or an amphib. The saga continues, we'll see what happens from here.

There is something special about the time you open that envelope and take that plastic card out and look at it. The picture of Orville and Wilbur Wright on it makes it that much more special. When you compare the number of private pilots with the population of the USA. As said before you are in a select group of men and women. Bob

Congrats Hooznext! It's a feeling you won't soon forget. I couldn't stop laughing during my first solo trip around the patch.

well don't waste any time. Start looking and arranging financing now. You never know when they might change their mind. ...By the way you just missed a M5 210 on Ebay. It was up for sale with a buy it now price of $43,500. Pretty good price I'd say. \:D/

Take your time in deciding what bird to buy. Fly in as many types and makes as you can and pick ppls brains (remembering that they are all prejudiced toward what they fly.....lol). Your first goal must be getting the ticket. A major factor in what type of bird you get will be what will you do with it? Answer this question before you start seriously looking. Meanwhile absorb all the info you can and enjoy hell out of what you are doing. :P
