Flap extension for a Stinson

What I am looking for is a set of extend flaps for a Stinson. Or if some one could give me a hand with mine. I have the parts but riviting is not my area of expertise. I live in the state of Alaska in the North Pole area. Thanks for your in put...

uh, Maybe find a A&P mechanic to help you out? #-o Probably would be cheaper to have to pay for labor, rather than pay for somebody's parts!

Too bad I don't live up there anymore, I'd come help ya out. Riveting isn't tough just takes practice. I knew jack about riveting when I started my Stinson, but now I do alright.

Be Specific left or right - extend like in length or like in to extend the flaps with handle bell crank. I've got several sets maybe exchange ? Go to my email and send me a note at [email protected] and include your cell phone number. Charlie Barrett is in North Pole Alaska(summers) and has a 108 I believe there or at Stan's in Idaho . Flaps on 108 to 108-3 are the same size and mount. Ailerons are different although

Go see David Delcourt at Delcourt Aviation in Fairbanks. Great guy and is always trying real hard to make his customers happy. In my experience he has done everything that he said he would do. He's one of my Stinson product dealer/installer locations. Works on the Dept. of Interior's airplanes too. I think you will be happy working with him. Tell him I said hi.

Flap extensions? How could you do that on a Stinson?.....Experimental?
I think of flap extensions as bigger flaps......full flaps with a slip in a Stinson is the real deal!

Have no idea if this proposed mod is EXP or STC or Field Approval. But regardless of the paper side, I'd guess it would be taking a little off the aileron and put it on the outboard end of the flap?

However, adding another 6 inches of chord length to the flaps would be a better choice than shortening the ailerons... as long as the control system structure could handle the extra air loads. The trailing edge would no longer be straight, but that makes very little difference at these speeds.

Bill I think he's trying a mix and match -2 to -3 flap/ aileron patch. I'd stay out of it until he produces a picture at least --I went to Bruce's containers and we have 3 extra sets of wings and controls .
