flight planning

Just got off the phone with a fellow pilot who post here now and then. He told me of a flight planning site that is based on the runway finder site but is reall enhanced. Gives weather and notams also.

Looks good to me

Lynn Sanderson (Dirtstrip) passed away from natural causes in May 2013. He was a great contributor and will be missed dearly.

Re: flight planning

Tim,

I saw your ride over at Spanish Fark yesterday morning. I got up early to enjoy the sunrise ans calm winds.

Thanks for the flight planner!

Re: flight planning

I've used Navmonster for some time now as well. Also, AOPA has a pretty good flight planner, which has similar capabilities. The first couple versions weren't all that great, but the latest version is pretty nice.

The only down side to these things is my students find out about them pretty fast, and all ACTUAL flight planning practice goes right out the window henceforth.

Re: flight planning

Yep, unfortunately, however, the FAA has not yet seen fit to permit the use of such flight planners during the knowledge exams....

Re: flight planning

I've been using fltplan.com for a long time now, really great tool, the vfr sectional will even overlay radar and show TFRs.

I used it a few times on check rides, if memory serves I brought in the standard jep nav log as well asI a navlog/route wx/NOTAMS/winds aloft print up from fltplan.
