I am kind of partial, but lots of choice in NM:
1. Gila National Forest. Pic above is Negrito (0NM7). Also have Me Own (1NM0) and Beaverhead (13NM) and Double Circle (Z66). Double Circle is just over the border in AZ and is in the Tonto National Forest. All strips are great strips with lots of forest service roads and trails to keep you busy. I especially like Negrito as it gets very little visitors, has tremendous wildlife and visually really beautiful!!
2. Grant Besley Airfield (NM03). That is real close to some of the southern Colo strips mentioned above, so would be good addon if you are going there. Real close to the Rio Grand Gorge. If you are a fisherman, there is a trail from the rim to the river below. Long hike but great fishing if you go!
Good Luck!! L

Count me in!
A group of us have an annual Memorial Day fly-in at Red Hills, CA. We have not done any biking activities but there is an interesting bike trail in the area.

Perhaps we could use this location and dates for a combined fly-in. The Red Hills airstrip is a remote private airstrip and the owners welcome flying activities. Here is a link to a safety video of the Red Hills airstrip. It is close to Columbia (O22) and the above mentioned bike trail.

Please posy your interest in a 'Mountain Biking' get together around Memorial Day 2018. I'll add it to the Red Hills Fly-In if we have enough interest.

I'm going to see if I can get a couple decent hardtails in there. Our other option is to buy a new airplane.
