Hey Guy's - Started building my new mountain bike. Planning some weekend getaways for some camping and biking adventures. Ideally, I'd like to be able to land, setup camp, and go explore on the bike. I fly out of Denver. Moab is obviously on the list (the airport is closed there for a while, so any alternates).

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Not sure where you are looking re KCNY...it is open. There are no NOTAMS as of a few min ago.

If you fly into Mineral Canyon there is great Mtn biking up to the rim, then all kinds of options from there. Doing the White Rim trail is also an option from Mineral Canyon.

Hood River has got some great mountain biking. Trails are only a few miles from the aiport

This is where riding in New England and eastern Canada really rocks. Kingdom Trails, Carrabassett Valley, Vallee Bras du Nord, all have airports literally within 5 minutes (riding time on your bike, from your plane to the trailhead) of some of the best riding in the country. There's a private strip near Mack Mesa (my sister lives in Fruita so I've ridden there a ton), I wonder if you could get permission to land there?

Where it gets a bit tricky is the camping part, like others have said there are plenty of trails near airports, but I wouldn't want to camp at them. If you can land off airport, the riding possibilities are vastly increased! I use my bike for exploring, more than for riding established single track though.

Kern valley has some great stuff. On airport camping as well.

If you ever want to travel north to British Columbia we have a huge amount of locations that would fit your description , from mild to wild and remote to developed.
