flyers who don't clear the active runway

NORDO, so I circled low for for several minutes waiting for the approach end of this water ski up to landing site to be cleared. I have never seen such inconsiderate actions by such a large group of flyers, and I was tempted to really buzz them down low to make my intentions to land clear but safety first.Image So, I left that stretch of beach to those runway hogs and landed by another homebuilt. Composite construction, with some new kind of folding wing I have not seen before. It appears to have a very low drag fuselage even though it's open cockpit.

Try Midway Atoll sometime. Half a million breeding pair of Laysan Albatross.

Was hoping I'd see you today. I only made it to about Pingree before I headed back to IF. Looks like some good play spots along the reservoir.

Re: flyers who don't clear the active runway

These guys didn't take the hint. I by no means of course wanted to be seen actively buzzing them down low, harassing them in other words. At the some time, I was low enough and there long enough, circling, to get their attention based on past experience, and finally I just figured they didn't give a damn and moved on. Don't know if you can tell in the pic but there were a few of those big sand hill cranes, mostly pelicans though. Bastards :?

Just saw your post Whee. Hey I wasn't playing... I have a crane job at the Lamb Weston spud plant tomorrow and needed, really badly needed, to check out the job site first, and the res just got in the way. Plus "had" to do some aerial pics on past and future other job sites, while still having to leave time for landing a couple other sites on the way home, busy morning.

Pretty cool, Tom. As usual, I enjoy your post's! Keep em coming.

And BTW, I've been running between Elko, NV and Williston, ND the last week and a half. 93, 84, 86, 15, 20, 87, 287, 90 and 94 has been my usual route. I'm always on the look out for your Green Rans around Pocotello/ID Falls. I've been stopping at Dads TS just south of ID Falls. Great truck stop. We'll have to meet up sometime.

Have fun!
