Great find! Lots of good pics.

I've got an old "Sport Pilot" magazine from the mid-90's with an article about a missionary outfit in Africa which used a Zenair 701 to get around. Worked just great for them: often an hour-long (or less) flight eliminated an all-day drive on roundabout funky roads to get to some village.

That is super cool, Tom. Did I ever mention my soft spot for Savannahs/CH701's? I think they look good with paint though.

That is the new "ADV" Savannah. It has a tapered wing with retractable slats. It give the plane about 10 or 15 mph faster cruise, with a little less STOL capability. It is only available as a factory built wing. I don't know what it costs. ICP also has a "VG" model where the fixed slats like I have are replaced by a slatless wing and vortex generators.

A guy at my airport has a Savannah with a slatless/VG'd wing, he bought it ready to fly from the mfr (?) in Canada in 2007. Rotax 912, never flown in it but it appears to be pretty STOLy.
