Re: Flying Wild Alaska

I gotta say its pretty cool to be part of a forum with all you guys who know the Tweeto's personally, the planes, the place, etc. Great after show commentary. How cool is that guys?

Re: Flying Wild Alaska

I am glad that Jim and his crew are getting their moment of fame, it's well deserved.

However, it's a shame that the "reality" of the day to day operations is deemed unworthy and needs to be punched-up in order to be considered interesting enough for prime-time. Watching Jim on the phone putting out the constant daily fires, the constant loading and unloading planes and the constant crappy weather, not to mention the long hours, thats REAL folks even though the camers don't spend much time showing it. Ask guys like Gump and Don C. But, all that "boring" stuff is what makes living "off the road system" possible for the people who live out here.

Oh well, off the soap box #-o . Like my wife says "just shut up and watch the show"

Chris, I agree with your wife. :)

Whatever reality TV bullshit it takes for them to get this stuff produced and pay their bills is fine with me, as long as airplanes are on prime time. Many people who watch this stuff have no eye for aviation detail and need the drama to stay tuned in. Can't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Yah Zane, i agree, but it's still a shame.

Chris, I agree with your wife. :)

And yes, my wife is much smarter than me. Except for her brief lapse in judgment on getting married to me

Re: Flying Wild Alaska

I think Alaska Wingmen did the same thing with an Otter and a Beaver on the glacier pickup scene.

Hey, we're the only ones who can tell the difference I guess. They're all just "puddlejumpers."

Re: Flying Wild Alaska

We were watching both these shows the other night on Tivo.

My wife turns to me and says "Wow! This must be like porn for you."

Me: "What to you mean, "like?"".

Both these shows are awesome. It's pretty amazing to have so much great flying programming on TV! =D>

I could fly 400 to 500 hours in a several month period and never get above 500 ft MSL or AGL.
