Flying with RobW56
Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Do it! It will be awesome to see just how much those pants can handle.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”
I took my first float plane lesson in Alaska yesterday! It was a lot of fun! I didn’t have much time since I had to fly back to California afterwards but I logged 1.1hrs and 5 takeoffs and landings on 3 lakes.

That's awesome! Sure was a nice day in the central AK Range yesterday. What operator/ seaplane base did you use?

The planes belong to the Elmendorf Aero Club. They have a 180hp 172 and a 185 on floats at Sixmile Lake on the north side of the base. I wanted to go in the 185 but it wasn’t available.

I miss our fly-ins where we got to see friends and catch up. Glad you got over this way. Yell next time you’re down this way.

Awesome that your family is able to enjoy the 180 so much. Quick question - what tires are you running on your 180?

Great TR & photos Rob.
I hope both your kids grow up to be aviators,
but even if they don't you're creating wonderful lifelong memories.
