Flylite 4000 skis on a C180?

Hi
Anyone done this?

European winter is producing a lot of snow already down in the French Alps and would like to join the fun...

Have only used Federals on 185s in the past and know nothing about these...

Any thoughts greatly appreciated

Flilites are simply the best retractable skis ever invented for a Cessna 180 size airplane. They are very good in floatation, and the retraction mechanism is also good. The only down side I've seen with them is that they restrict tire size to 8.OO X 6 or smaller. No big deal for most, though.

Get the bottoms covered with UHMW, and get em rigged right, and you'll have a wonderful set of skis.

Problem already is that I have 8.5s :(

I'll have to look into that further

we run 8.50's on a 185 with Fli-lite 4000's. i just looked at the stc and it doesn't specify a tire size. neither did the install drawings.

our fluidyne 3600's require a 8.00-6. but i have also seen the arms modified (lengthened) to run 8.50's.
