Man, that is some seriously blue water! I really need to fly there before I leave the east coast. A trip to the Bahamas just got moved up to the top of my near term bucket list!

Thanks for watching my video. I got a surge in views and I discovered this website which is very cool. Based in Miami I don't have that much chance to do some back country and mountain flying. Florida is very very flat... Nice water and islands though.

These video is a compilation of many flights to the Bahamas with my friends/girlfriends
Flying there is nice but it does require a bit of preparation because of crossing the border (Eapis, international flight plan, special squawk code, coming back on airport with USCBP ) and the safety issues of flying above the water most of the time with almost no descent ATC coverage beyond Nassau and Freeport....
Night flight is IFR only in Bahamas but it's sometime hard to reach ATC when you are far from the US coast and/or on some tiny islands. Feel free if you have any questions, i'll be glad to help if I can.

I'm currently editing many video of my flights, episode 2 is San Francisco, I'm going to continue with Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Key West, etc.

Welcome, Oli. Glad to have you here! You don't have to have mountains to fly Backcountry, as many of us don't. But you do have a lot of water and beaches, and obviously a little sense of adventure.

We'll have you on floats or fat tires before you know it!

Best scenery I've seen on this site in quite a while.

Hey DrifterDriver: If I put winglets on my Maule and painted my Chrysler black, would the same crowd hang around my hangar? I'd even wear a gold chain if that would help.

Then again, if that crowd did show up, I'd probably lose the plane plane I have in a divorce. Since it took my whole career to save enough to buy an older Maule, I think I'll stick with old guy R&R music and my ancient dog as my hangar companion.

It is interesting to see the kind of lives young, successful artists can aspire to. Maybe I'll skip engineering in my next life and pursue a different career path. I doubt I'd be interested in buying a jet, but I wouldn't mind having a quiver of aircraft for different missions. I'd keep a Maule for backcountry work, a CAP-21 for occasional acro with a friend, and maybe a Piper Meridian for XC trips. It's enough to make me hope for reincarnation.
