Free CFI-I for Biennial Flight Reviews

Here is something you don't see every day. Something free... no strings attached. Backcountry members only. If you need a biennial flight review or instrument currency check ride I will do it for no charge. I have a real job. I teach for fun. It will be a "back country biennial"... not your garden variety flight review. The FAA regs leave the specifics to the discretion of the instructor. So, this will involve: how to survive an engine out in hostile territory; how to deal with mountain flying conditions; how to fly really slow (fast is easy- slow much more challenging) ; how to use a short strip and not kill the family and friends.
Here are the requirements: You come to Arizona (Prescott- nice mountain town at 5040 MSL) with your plane... and there is no charge.
You show up and want to use my plane (C182A) you pay for the gas. You want me to come to your town... you pay the cost to get there. (and give me a place to sleep) Western US only.
I travel to SO CAL pretty often, Grand Junction now and then. KABQ now and then. Tucson and PHX pretty often. No charge in these towns.
Did I miss anything? If this of interest to anyone, let me know. I like to teach.... love to fly. Meeting others who feel the same is pretty cool.
Experience: 38 years- ratings-most. Certified teacher: grade school to univ.
Biennial can be tailwheel, floats, single, multi, hot air balloon, (have a balloon, cost is extra) glass cockpit, LSA, Turbo Prop etc.
By the way, a bit of trivia: you cannot fail a flight review. Period. Either you get signed off... or nothing is ever entered in your logs.
But, if you are blatantly unsafe, unprepared, or have a death wish- don't waste my time or yours.
Cheers, Nick

Flying is dangerous. If you think otherwise, you are new at this sport. Mind the gravity not the gap.

Now there's an original offer and a chance to see Arizona. Now I need to get my biennial to come up in the winter instead of September so I can see the Grand Canyon for a winter vacation.

Yup, Bill Wall is a great guy. He flies a cute cub.... but at the moment is focused on the best help he can possibly give.. for his wife.
I hope to be as honorable when my time to do the same comes along.
And to the '58.... damn, now I gotta get 8.50's all around. That is a great mod....

That is a fantastic offer. When my BFR comes up I may take you up on it on one of your SoCal trips. Since you are being so kind, and your airplane is on the AML for my STC, you won't walk away empty handed either.

Re: Free CFI-I for Biennial Flight Reviews

Would be glad to do that review at Whiteman. The only thing better is doing it from my stomping grounds.... and using Marble Canyon for the destination. Back in college, I enjoyed many flights below the rim of the canyon (way below...) Now, the FEDS have taken, or tried to.... take the fun out of MY canyon. So, I skirt the system. Marble canyon is legal.... down in where it is really pretty. Noboby pays any attention to arriving and departing aircraft, as the river runners drop people in Dornier turboprops alll summer long. Anyway, as the time gets near for a review, let me know.
Will enjoy meeting you and logging some dual Bill!

Mornin Nick
Generous offer. Don't need the BFR this year, but next year would be fun. I used to live in SEZ, so have spent a lot of time flyin around down there, lots of trips to PRC. Used to enjoy the old restaurant. I moved out of the area, and up to Colo. in the early 90's. Still a few friends there.

You said you went to Junction occasionally. If you ever feel like swinging through DRO on the way and visiting/flying/stayin over, or meeting over in Utah for some flying(time and money permitting) I'd be happy to meet ya over there and to some flying.
