Free delivery/external load

A little aerial delivery of two solar panels to a customer 75 miles away, easily 1 1/2 hr drive each way, with the tailwind I had 30 minutes.

Then a little fun on the way home

And then, because I could, about 35 minutes after taking this shot of a fire in a nearby town I overflew, I emailed it to the towns newspaper news editor. Pretty good service for free!

I don't know, I think there's a three way tie between Courierguy, Rob, and Pops. :D

Re: Free delivery/external load

I flew my desk...uh...nowhere today. I delivered emails and phone calls, and the only external load I had was what I left in the toilet.

Tom, Vick - you guys suck...or you rock. No, its decided...you suck.

Matt, can you moderate these guys please?

Sure, I get to have some fun but I'm still working for the man. Tom is the man!

Re: Free delivery/external load

I got an email from the paper's news editor, they are using my picture of the fire in todays paper. She thanked me, and then it got a little creepy: she went on to ask why I was flying over the area anyway. My first reaction was to say. "because I can", or "just doing my job " or some other smart ass remark. I kept it to, as was the truth, "it was directly in my flight path from the town airport and my destination, and the smoke caught my eye".

Maybe she was just hinting she'd like a ride sometime and I'm just getting paranoid. I'll try and google her and she what she looks like, shallow person that I am.

Emflys: the other day we were kicking around the gear leg concept: spring rod like we have on our S-7S's V A-frame cub type? NOT that I hit this hole to make a point, but the spring rod, giving backwards as it did (actually kinked the gearleg fairing a bit) sure helped in this case, not that the other type wouldn't have held up, but I actually saw it deflect a fair way backwards.

Yeah, makes sense Tom. How those socket doublers holding up? That's what I get more worried about.

Great, the gear sockets /gear legs have NO play, the doubler is actually a tripler right at the bolt hole, so lots of bearing area for the AN-6 bolt. I went that big, not for strength so much as for more bearing area. The Airstreaks really get the credit for soaking up the bumps.
