FS/FT: 31” Alaskan Bushwheels

I’m looking to get rid of these 31’s to switch to 850’s. Would like to buy a set of airtrac 850’s and tubes with the proceeds so I’m thinking like $800. Located in Kentucky.

They are from 2017, previous generation, zero weather checking. One tire has two spots of cord showing as seen in pics. Other tire has none. They were on the plane when I purchased it so can’t speak to the numbers of landings and such but there was 150 hours on them.

Feel free to make an offer. Crocs are not for sale, stop asking.

Thanks
Asa

Too slow. Already sold the crocs. And the tires are pending already... found someone with a fresh set of 850's to trade.

Let me know if the sale doesn't go through, I'd purchase.

It starts with crocs, then suddenly you find yourself living in a camper in the hangar, eating out of the frypan....

Your tone suggests you consider that a bad thing. Sounds great!

For the 31's: Wash soap and water. Rough tire with 60 grit. Spin tire 6-8 rpm on a rotisserie, apply Devcon FL20 primer 2lbs Urethane Liquid Flexane 80 15800, tacky, second coat, let spin for 3 hours, 4 days to dry.

For the crocs, I too have fallen to the dark side...

Had a buddy that did all his firewood making, from felling, to splitting and stacking in Crocs and sweat pants. I always thought that was pretty dumb. He'd had a heck of a bad saw injury earlier in his life too so you'd think he'd be more cautious.

Well he is braver than I. I don't start the saw without boots and chaps.

I figured you were probably kidding. Just one of those things where I still shake my head thinking of it.

Fuzz lined or raw? I usually have to retire flip flops due to their status as bioweapons.

To get things back on track (sorry Crocs fans)… Has anyone had success with the above? Durability? Length of added service?

Lots of people. Which in my opinion made these tires a pretty good deal.

A friend, who was an early adopter of this method, told me that a set of Bushwheels would last till they rotted if this method was used. I figured he was exaggerating but now I’m a believer. He sold me a worn out set of 31s which I recoated using Flexane according to the method which he told me. You have to do it right or the Flexane will peel but if done right it lasts a long time. Figure 1 pound per tire will last 1 year. 2 pounds per tire lasts two years but is harder to apply correctly. I put one pound on, haven’t flown nearly as much as I’d like but all of it has been on pavement and it is looking like I won’t need to bother putting more one for another year.

Re: FS/FT: 31” Alaskan Bushwheels

I really considered doing flexane on these. However more than needing a second set of 31’s, I needed a set of smaller tires and didn’t want to spend $800. I will flexane my “real” pair of 31’s when they wear out. They are heavy tread with no signs of that being anytime soon (fingers crossed).

Might flexane my crocs when they need it as well.
