Good Day all,

I have a G430W, hooked into it a WX500 Stormscope. Everything has worked great for years (as good as these are) until yesterday.

I just started to get a warning in the message page...and of course it continues to flash. The message..."Stormscope device has failed...Not receiving input data on 232 Chanel #4".

On the display page a "Lighting failed" message.

On the navigation map page "LTNG FAIL".

I have tried to find some articles about troubleshooting but with no avail.

I thought I would ask if any of you Avionics Jedi Knights had a quick fix solution or is it just to my avionics shop for troubleshooting.

Your remote L3 wx 500 died. Could be just wiring or bad power/ no power to the WX 500 but most likely it's a bad box.
Doubtful it's the 430. There really isn't any testing you can do unless you had another wx 500 to put in.
