Glider crash in the Tetons
Debrief, share, and hopefully learn from the mistakes of others.
I had crane work Saturday scheduled, though there was a fly-in I wanted to go I went ahead and worked, after checking the forecast for Saturday morning. I was bummed to see perfect flying conditions Saturday AM, but it was too late to cancel my jobs, then around mid morning things changed, by noon it was howling, I had made the right choice. Point being, It was a real dynamic day that started off perfect, but things changed fast. Judging from the wind direction at my place and the wreckage location, it would appear they went down on the lee side/rotored, bad deal. She was a pretty unique pilot.

Wow,
Condolences to all who knew her. I have a good friend that does scenic glider flights out of Driggs when he isn't flying for Net Jets. I had to get to the end of the post before my heart got out of my throat.
Sad news,
Pete

I recognize her from the gliding short film "Cloudstreet Soaring the American West" that was released a year or two back. My condolences to all involved.
