Go(not such a)Pro

So, while spending a few days on the couch from back issues, I screwed with the video footage and thunked the finished product down on my imaginary table. I think, I'm sliding it across now, but have never tried this particular magic before so don't expect to be amazed by my technical prowess. My attempt is for entertainment and possibly, not undeserved, ridicule.... Just some landings. I never realized that I kinda prefer the left lane. I'm working on that.

Re: Go(not such a)Pro

Wow. Great video! Now I don't have to go flying today. Feel like I was there.

I love your different angles. Haven't decided which view I like the best.

I'm impressed that your prop isn't making more of those annoying moving lines. Did you use a filter or something to help eliminate them?

What settings did you use to make the video? Eg. 720 @ 60 fps?

Suction cup mount to your window?

Thanks for the great video.

Did you use some popular music? It's not viewable on mobile, and that often happens because the licensor of identified copyrighted content (usually music) prohibits mobile viewing.

Good tunes choice, it's fun making vids.

On my 2 day old iPad mini, the video works perfectly with Safari.

However, a "restricted" message pops up when I attempt to open it with my favourite browser (Opera).

Nice footage fz! Well done

Great video FZ. really enjoyed the Van Halen. I'm young and still enjoy them, so I don't think its showing anyones age.

Re: Go(not such a)Pro

BCP's, thanks for the feedback. I am having a ton of fun with the GoPro. It's just cool on a bunch of levels and is an awesome tool for working on doing better at whatever. It's funny too in some ways, I've never watched myself much before and truly had no idea what I looked like when flying so it's weird to see that old guy looking casual at the stick when my memory is of a young punk that was about half ready to have a little pee leaking down his leg.
The initial inspiration for buying the GoPro was that damn firebomber video that was on our site a month or so ago. If I'd seen that thing at anytime in my life before the lure of retirement had it's hooks so deep in me, I'da been gone and training and never have looked back. I've watched that vid about twelve times and it still makes my hair stand on end, even downloaded THAT song and it's definitely not old guy stuff. My 21 year old was a little incredulous that I had music by "The Offspring". Ah well, Van Halen still kicks ass!
As for settings: off the shelf. I haven't changes a thing. The mount is a suction cup on various windows and soon I'm doing some outside mounting too, mit's just too much fun.
The music thing is too cool though. I've got a few other complilations with music I like but it too is copy written. Any ideas, besides composing my own, how to put good tunes with our footage and not get spanked?
Anyway, thanks tons for the feedback.

Re: Go(not such a)Pro

flyingzebra,

Great video. I am just learning to fly and using the Nflight Cam by Contour in every lesson and every time I go up with friends. A camera in the cockpit is so useful to review everything that happened, and even allows you to pick things up that you may have missed. I can say that the $400 (or more) you initially spend is well worth it. In my training it has been an invaluable tool. I hope to post some vids soon. Any suggestions for editing software?

Most of the time if you put the music credits at the end (or even beginning) they will leave your video alone.

What plane are you flying?

1954 Cessna 180. I'll try the credits thing. I keep messing footage and it's just a lot less fun to watch without music. Time to break put the piano and a guitar......

The shots under the belly on the opening sequence threw me off the track.. It looked like a pacer gear set up, but with two struts per side and doors on each side.. I was scratching my head trying to figure out just what the heck you were flying there.
