Man, if I could fit that in my backpack I totally would. At least for now, my MSR 2 place seems to do the job and holds up decently for wind.

But I want one!

Of course for what a big Class A pusher costs I could buy a Super Cub, C185, and have enough left over to buy a shitload of gas.

Do you use it 4 season? Good in rain/snow too?

I am staying with light aircraft. That mobile home would be to much to wash and vacuum on Sundays for me.

I've owned and used a North Face VE 25 "clone" for almost thirty years now. I've camped in that tent in some pretty nasty weather. After all, for a number of years, the VE24 and 25 tents were favorites of the Everest climbing crowd.
A couple years ago, one of the zippers gave up, and the bug screen had a hole in it. I sent it to North Face, and three weeks later, it came back with all new zippers, and a couple other repairs....at no charge.

I like the company mountain hardware, but I have had two of their tents. The first year both were great, the second or third year, all the glued seams let loose and the tent came apart.
The good company replaced it free, but the third year with the second tent, almost the same thing, glue failed and all the clear windows fell out during a heavy rain and tent flooded. No more Mountain Hardware tents for me.

That is certainly a success story. I vote "Good tent" for North Face VE25. All in agreement?

Thank you. The tent(s) could not handle it. I will be careful with mine and maybe consider a change. Very good post!

Hilleberg Nammatj 3 GT is the best tent I have ever owned. Just spent 9 days in in the Chugach Mountains on a sheep hunt and the weather was less than nice. The tent performed flawlessly! I have had North Face, Eureke, Mountain Hardware and many other 4 season tents and the Hilleberg is a superior made product.
Well worth the price.

What brand? I miss my old Sears Catalog "Family" tent. It weighed about 100LBS and was only good during truck trips to Baja.
BTW B.J. Baldwin won the Baja 1000. JCR won the motorcycle class.

I airplane camp with a REI Hobitat 4. Not exactly a light weight or compact tent but I too got tired of trying to get dressed laying down. The Hobitat has 6' of head room and plenty of room for two plus all your gear. I spent 3 weeks in it in Idaho this year, high winds lots of rain, worked great!

Best tent. Comes with folks that prepare your meals and launder your clothes. Easy to standup in and get dressed. My idea of camping.
Of course it is a little hard to get in the plane.

For $50 at Costco this has been a hell of a tent. Coleman Evanston 4.
