Gotta make the meeting??

Well if you can make the meeting I say go for it, you know where to find the wrecked plane when you're done. Probably would be a good idea to give the police a call though...

I saw this too and couldn't help but wonder if he was waiting for his blood alcohol level to come down some before talking to authorities. The original plan of landing on a road to get to his meeting didn't sound very clear headed, but I'm not familiar with the rules in his neighborhood. Since he got a ride home from the meeting in a car, why didn't he just drive to the meeting to begin with? There are a lot more questions than answers in this story. The fact that he was able to walk to his meeting is pretty amazing though. A good testament to how robust the Maule fuselage is.

Hit really hard to push the gear into the fuselage and break the engine off. 25g seat out of a Huey would have helped his back. Hit that hard in a Cobra w/o back injury. Hit much softer in LSA and broke my back and crushed my leg. Maule must be pretty tough.
