Day 15: A little slower paced day but still awesome. We broke camp and repositioned to Homer to stay with a friend (the same one with the Helis). No tent for a few days!
On the way to Homer, I noticed my left gauge shower a lot lower than it should have. Sunday afternoon we refueled in Soldotna when we got back. Well, the airport ran out of fuel later that afternoon and, with our plane being parked closest to the fuel island, I guess it became the defacto source of fuel. I figure 15-20 gallons out of one tank. I hope it was someone in a serious jam that needed it, in which case I'd be ok with it...if they would have left a note or something! Anyway...
Allen and Stan did a quick oil change and met us down there. We had a quick picnic on the spit, got settled into our new accommodations, and then spent the afternoon in a beautiful little town across from the bay called Seldovia. We walked to the beach, had ice cream, climbed on rocks and looked for geocaches. It was a great place to kill an afternoon!
Picnic on the spit.

The flight to Seldovia is only about 15 minutes, but apparently Adam was beat!

The dandelions are on steroids over here. Some 2'+ tall!

A cool little village.

Lots of cool wood carvings all over town.

Ice cream stop.

We looked for geocaches along the way. There was this cool one in the library. It was closed but they let us in anyway to find it.

We hiked the Otterbahn trail down to a beach. It reminded us more of Oregon than AK.

The beach was cool. Lots of interesting rocks and barnacles. The kids really enjoyed running around and climbing the rocks.

Seldovia strip. Beautiful approach into it.

Another geocache with a cool container made to look like a rusted bolt.

Our new accommodations for a few nights. Some rain was coming so we thought it would be good to get out of the tent for a few nights.

Dinner in the motor home.

Our new host has some cool walrus tusks she has personally harvested off of dead walruses over the years.
