Grimes airfield has a focus on "Golden Age" aircraft and it is a real nice turf field. Thought you might like some photos.
It was a busy day and planes were lined up waiting to be assigned a slot.

My fiend came in just after me in his Champ.

We got set up and had a breakfast sandwich.

This plane hung from a resturant for 40 years and was saved just days before the building was tore down. To see if it was worthwhile rebuilding they put some gas and oil in it. It started right up! Now it is on the flight line.

These next two picture are of a rare Luscombe Observer. Absolutely pristine!

One of my favorites is this beautiful Swift!

The Jenney was flying around the pattern. That was cool!

Biplanes were everywhere!

They combine the show with cars. There were all kinds but my favorite was this Rod with cool air filter hats!

Grimes puts on a great show and we spent hours watching the planes come and go and BS'ing with other pilots. What a way to spend a day!
