Guess My Weight

The original w/b stated the empty weight was 668 lbs dry. Oil only, no fuel, on stock gear, single puck brakes, and 8.00 tires.

Since then I have added the following:
6" HD extended gear- beefier tubing, and gussets.
Double puck Matco brakes
Matco wheels
Matco axles
29" AKB Airstreaks

Good luck!

Edit:

Forgot to mention, shout out to my new friends at Missionary Maintenance Service at the Richard Downing Airport (I40) In Coshocton, Ohio. The rates there are very reasonable. Lets just say that my donation to the shop was twice what they charged me. Labor rate is $45/Hr. They take great pride in their work also. Good people doing good things.

I had the pleasure to meet the folks at MARC in Soldotna. I think it's a similar mission and I can't believe how wonderful the people were.

I really hope organizations like that are getting the proper exposure to young people around the career decision age.

Re: Guess My Weight

Let's see.... about 65 lbs for the brake upgrade and the bigger tires, along with the gear upgrade, then another 15 lbs for misc stuff you haven't even thought of that will up the weight gain. Lost pens, change, camera lense caps, etc. My official guess is 748.

Re: Guess My Weight

From the pics, it looks like the levelling means is the horiz stab? Where is the datum-- the firewall?
Did you drain all the fuel and then weigh it?

Drained all the fuel. The Czech instructions (although in English) didn't make it perfectly clear where the leveling was supposed to be done from but our best guess was the horizontal stab from the instructions. In the picture that shows the whole airplane on the scales it was not leveled properly. The nose was too low but the bottom of wing was level. The instructions stated that the elevator needed to be level so we interpreted that to mean that the airplane is leveled with the elevator even with the horizontal and the horizontal level.

Datum is the front of the prop flange/back face of the prop.
