Happy Thanksgiving

I am thankful for my healthy family and to have an airplane to fly. I spent almost 7 hours in my cub yesterday fighting headwinds and loving it. I think I crossed La Veta pass at 11,000ft and a ground speed of 40kts but the air was smooth so I soldiered on! I literally had a blast.

Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours!

Re: Happy Thanksgiving

happy thanksgiving to all... Started today watching a parade in Chicago and after seeing a rider with a horse with a pink tail and mane i got discusted and found one of the best guy movies ever made... Godfather parts 1 and 2...Into part two now and there are a few scenes that are so familiar to me from growing up on the lower east side of Manhattan in the 50's... THere's a scene in part 2 with Pacino and Bruno Kirby (Clemenza) on Mott street. and you can see the sign for Salerno's Bakery on a building in the background... Salerno's is still there to this day and when I was little my mom would take me on the bus to little italy to Salerno's for baked goods and by far the best canoli's in the city...growing up on the lower East side we owned the streets back then.. we didn't have to worry about perverts only tough guys from other neighborhoods.. I remember one day sitting on my "Stoop" and a guy ran by with gun in hand being chased by two other guys... shots rang out and later we went down to see the guy lieing in a pool of blood on the sidewalk... who knows ... we didn't ask.. I still go down to Salerno's when I go back to NY to see my son and his family... He just made first grade detective and he's still in the 47 in the Bronx, doing mostly Homicides...Sorry guys but as I get older I think more on growing up in lower Manhattan... My best friend passed away recently.. His dad was Secretary treasurer of the NYC cement Masons Union...mostly sicilians.. back in the 50's when he passed away from throat cancer I attended his funeral with my friend John... it was a funeral not unlike the one in this movie for the godfather.. the five family heads were all in attendance as were the FBI taking pictures and writing down license numbers... it was a different time..Oh well so much for nostalgia...

Happy Thanksgiving. I am thankful for many things, not the least of which is the fact that Z never set up a section only viewable by paying members.

Best wishes to all y'all and your families.
