Can't deny it, it sure looks like fun.
The big power splash through the water brings back fond memories of enduros in Western NY and northern PA during the '70s. Supposedly a series of timed sections that in reality turn into balls out blasting through the woods, swamps, slag heaps, huge mud holes, flooded strip mines and gas line right of ways - talk about pucker factor when you break over the top of a loooong steep downhill at WOT. Catch a glimpse of people up ahead through the trees? Get ready for a humbling experience that draws a crowd willing to walk a half mile into the woods in the rain.
But back to the video, the issue I have is the combination of a mud slurry and machinery from an engineering and reliability perspective. Back in the 70's the most powerful wash to be had was an anemic hand carwash. Even so, after cleaning the visible mud off the bike, there was always grit left behind that got forced past seals or drawn into drain/weep vents or other moving/sliding interfaces. In combination with the normal vibration and use it resulted in premature wear.
I guess I'm just turning into my father - "be careful and treat it like you own it or will have to fix it" (car, truck, lawn mower, tractor, dozer, etc.)
But again, I have to agree, whoever the Kitfox pilot is, he sure was having fun.
