HD Borneo bush flying in a Pilatus PC-6
Links to general aviation backcountry flying-oriented videos. It can be yours or stuff you find on the internet. Please no airline/military.
Many of you have probably seen this little movie before but I've now managed to upload it in full HD for an even better viewing experience. Feel free to check it out:
Hopefully early next year I can finish up my current project flying in the mountains of Papua

Sweet video,I love the look of that place.
Is the headsets for noise or do you have a traffic system to talk to?
I will assume that those plates on the tires are for mud?
Keep em coming

Enjoyed every second! Even after the end, I kept waiting for more!
I don't have money to travel. But, are you allowed to have right seat passengers? Sure would be really awesome to spend a day or two flying with you guys.

Thanks for kind words everyone! To answer your questions:
A typical flight is for the local people and their belongings. All the routes we fly are heavily subsidised by the local government thus allowing the locals to travel from the remove villages into the more major ones. From there they can get connections into the cities and then to where-ever.
The headset is for both noise and to talk to other traffic in the area. MAF also operate in northern Kalimantan, as do other company aircraft so it's to ensure we don't run into each other.
The guards are for stones rather than mud. Even with them on, the horizontal stabiliser still takes a beating sometimes.
I often have someone sitting up front. Depends how many pax we got and how much cargo they're bringing. The Porter tends to run out of space before we reach the max weight limits. I prefer not to have the locals next to me though as they can be a little unpredictable in turbulence, grabbing whatever comes to hand like the power lever or door quick release handle! I'm sure I'd have no problems with a fellow pilot up front; can even put the RHS control stick in which we normally remove.
