I would have thought we have lost a hell of alot more than 16. Choppers take a far higher tole than fixed wing and given the number of fixed wing pilots I know weve lost these chopper numbers seem a major understatement

God Bless your friends. That looks like difficult and dangerous work. The Army put ten hours of maintenance into every hour of flight. Considering my accident proneness, and my experience with maintenance costs outside Uncle Sugar, I chose to stick with fixed wing after the Army.
I grew up ranching and understand a cowpony's need to stay in close. I didn't realize the helicopter would need to throw the noise down close as well.

Thanks for posting that. Heartbreaking, I have tremendous respect for these pilots. After watching this video last night, I binged on other Aussie youtube mustering videos linked off your post, incredible stockmen in Australia on all counts!!!
