I had the chance to fly a friends Helio Courier yesterday. This was about my 8th landing in the plane, and it was about 200 feet long without trying too hard. As I practiced, I got them down to around 125-150 ft with an 8 knot wind about 20 degrees off of the runway. What an amazing wing this machine has! It is a real handful in a crosswind, but you can practically land across the runway.

My row at FAI is abeam the landing spot for ski strip 2R. I routinely set up my lawn chair and "judge" landings for the myriad of types coming through. There is a helio courier operated commercially that impresses me the most. Always puts it down within 5 feet after the threshold and makes the first turn easily. Impressive machines and masterful performance by both of you.
