Emory, do you think that is on the TCDS?
Since alcohol allows higher compression pistons because of the higher octane rating-I'll bet electric starters have a tough life if they use said pistons.

I have a friend who has used this type of starter twice!, Both times with a radial, not a flat motor!!
Broken starter on a DC3, and dead battery's on a Beech 18.
Used a bucket on the end on of the prop and tied the rope to the handle so it would throw it clear! 4 wheeler worked well!!

Interesting find. I saw that come up on the Skywagon forum and did not watch it until it was posted here. I actually thought it was going to be a "when things go bad" link when I saw the truck and rope line up.

I think those guys are from Brazil. Portuguese being spoken I think. I notice the pilot put his shirt on before takeoff. He's obviously off to see his main squeeze.
